dc.description.abstract Legal education today must extend beyond merely producing technically skilled lawyers; it must also foster graduates who are ethically aware and driven by a sense of justice. This paper underscores the importance of integrating ethics, empathy, and social responsibility into legal training in India. By referencing jurisprudential traditions such as natural law and legal realism, it posits that the moral aspect of law should take precedence in legal education. The existing legal education framework is critiqued for its dependence on memorization, a lack of training in emotional intelligence and limited opportunities for experiential learning. The paper highlights innovative approaches like legal aid clinics, pro bono activities, mentorship and storytelling as effective means to cultivate justice-oriented perspectives among students. It further explores how legal education can foster a lasting dedication to public service and fair legal practices. The study reviews international best practices, such as ethics-focused models from Harvard, Yale and leading Indian National Law Universities, to offer insights into how to incorporate values-based education. It emphasizes the necessity for policylevel reforms, urging organizations like the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) to establish ethics-centred standards and promote service-learning initiatives. In conclusion, the paper asserts that an ethical and justice-focused legal curriculum is essential for maintaining the rule of law and fostering a just society. Law graduates should emerge not only as professionals but also as catalysts for change, dedicated to justice, inclusivity and the dignity of all individuals. en_US
