Joshi, Geeta; Lawani, B. T.
Family is foundation for harmonious community and society. Faith for the family is power source and
fundamental for happiness. It is the starting point of peace where development of each member can be
possible through mutual respect and encouragement. Individual can experience world peace in the
miniature in family only (Toda 2016). However, there are changes found in relationship. In India, we
have different form of marriages in traditional and contemporary era. Marriage has come to be
regarded more as a matter of personal choice and individual self-fulfillment, a space has been
created for new knowledge concerned with human relationship, sexuality and psychological wellbeing.
The real tension has probably always been between those who advocate personal discipline
and self-control and those who favour self-exploration and personal freedom as means of managing
these human issues (Rodger 1996). Divorce is becoming increasingly prevalent in our society,
significantly affecting all parties involved, particularly children. Divorce is painful and private
unravelling for families and sea of change for society. For parents and children ,divorce publicly
marks the unfolding of long and difficult struggle; it is also the beginning of redefining family
relationship, as renegotiation that may take as long be every bit as painful as coming apart. For
society divorce is sharp break from tradition a changed and still evolving definition of family, a
burden on legal institutions, and a challenge for those concerned with financial support and
emotional wellbeing of children and single parents.
This paper elaborates the features of divorcee family in light of Indian culture that are pertinent to
emotional effect. The paper is based on primary data conducted case studies about how children in
divorcee families are excluded to practice their rights by their own parents.

Leadership: An Important Domain in Social Work Education
Gokhale, Ketaki; Joshi, Geeta
The main inspiration for the introduction of the [olIDai training
for social work come to this country from the West, especially the
United States, when the first training institute was established in
1036 under the directorship an American. The program of education
has basically three components: classroom courses, research project
and field work. The objectives of professional education currently
are to prepare the type and quality of man power capable of
performing the professional tasks and functions currently being
performed by variety of organizations employing social workers.
Due to current political and economic changes which directly
influenced on daily lives of people, contemporary social trends
may prove more long-lasting than those of either political and
economic nature .As a result, governments are likely to seek new
approaches for dealing with human services, most acutely by welfare
leaders in those developing countries in which population growth
exceeds their capacity to satisfy even basic needs. Acting in
cooperation with their governments, social welfare specialist will
need to give leadership to the development of new public! private
partnership in the provision of human services. In social work
profession social workers are particularly qualified to provide
leadership on critical issues. The foreignness of social work education
is so much all - inclusive and pervasive as reflected in its basic
organization, curricula and the teaching material that most social
work graduates fail to pursue careers in professional social work.
Moreover existing training does not prepare them to assume roles
ofleadership in planning, fonnulation and implementation of social
welfare programs at different level of practice and administration.Indian social work educators must accept this challenge and forge a
new strategy to transfonn the existing social work education to
develop and use indigenous study material. In this paper the
researcher wants to emphasis on the importance of professional
leadership in social work profession. It will focus on the role and
scope of a leader. The paper highlights on the wider perspective of
leadership in social work profession.
